Brown County Humane Society

Goal: $10,000.00

Specific Need

The Brown County Humane Society (BCHS) proudly serves animals throughout Northeast Kansas, often stepping in to assist Doniphan County residents and pets in need. Over the past year, BCHS has taken in 53 dogs and cats from Doniphan County and provided over 25 spay and neuter surgeries, totaling over $7,500 in veterinary costs.

Spaying and neutering is one of the most effective ways to prevent unwanted litters, reduce overcrowding in local shelters, and improve the long-term health and well-being of pets. These services help control animal overpopulation and lessen the strain on local shelters and rescues.

Funds raised through Give Where You Live will help reimburse veterinary expenses from the past year and ensure BCHS can continue providing affordable spay/neuter and medical support for Doniphan County animals in the coming year!

As a nonprofit, the support and compassion from our community make everything we do possible. We rely on the generosity and partnership of caring individuals like you to continue this work. Thank you for helping us make a lasting difference for animals and families across our region.

Mission

The purpose of this society is the prevention of cruelty to animals, the relief of suffering among animals, and the extension of humane education.

We accept animals from the surrounding communities; we have no boundaries when it comes to animals in need.

We work diligently to give the homeless animals the best care during their stay at the shelter and find them the most loving homes possible.
