Specific Need

All donations will be used to directly support our staff with the purchase of iPads and iPad wall holders. These items will assist our staff in being able to more effectively and efficiently communicate with parents directly through our software program, Brightwheel, to give daily routine updates.

Doniphan Darlings is a group of community-minded individuals who are committed to the health, education, safety, and overall well-being of each child entrusted to our care.

Profile

Doniphan Darlings, Inc. is a non-profit childcare center established to help respond to the need for childcare in Doniphan County. After the closure of over 4 in-home daycares in the county, a group of local philanthropists came together and decided to put forth a plan of action to help fill the extreme need for childcare services in Doniphan County. With the help of Doniphan West USD 111 and the City of Highland, this plan was able to be implemented by converting an old grade school building into a daycare center, making Doniphan Darlings the first and only day care center in Doniphan County. Doniphan Darlings became operational as of July 11, 2022 with a capacity of serving 59 children in our daycare center. Doniphan Darlings offers curriculum with hands on learning and physical play to help aid in the early childhood education of each child in our care, as well as providing nutritious meals according to the "Child and Adult Food Care Program" guidelines. Doniphan Darlings is continually seeking ways to improve and expand our facility and the classrooms to meet the needs and demands of the children and families enrolled in our center.
